Hello, there!
My name is Kayleigh Idea, and I love to write. It’s my dream to one day impact people’s lives with my words. To tell great stories. To write great books. But most of all, to glorify God while doing what I love.

I started out as a reader. Books were my escape. I never thought about creative writing until one day when I was thirteen.
​
I was researching one of my favorite authors (Marissa Meyer, in case you were wondering), when I stumbled upon her blog, where she explains her entire writing process from a first draft to an edited manuscript. As soon as I read it, I realized...
​
I could do that. I want to do that. I want to write a book.
​
But I didn’t do anything with this sudden inspiration... yet.
​
It wasn’t until a few months later, during my second semester of eighth grade, that I actually began to write. In one of my classes, we were assigned to write and edit a short story that would be available for our entire class to read.
​
It took a ton of hard work, but by the end of that semester, I had written a short story. It wasn’t the greatest piece of literature, but it got me started.
Today I write young adult speculative fiction, primarily fantasy. I’ve written four novels and a novella. Currently, I’m working on my fifth novel. I hope to one day see my works published.

I'm also a blogger, a Community Assistant at The Young Writer's Workshop, and a student at the Author Conservatory.
​
When I’m not writing you can find me listening to Taylor Swift, eating dark chocolate or reading a good book.
